            Pfanstiehl Corporation, a leader in accessories for audio, video, telephone as well as automotive sound systems, has been purchased by L.K.G. Industries of Rockford, Illinois. Pfanstiehl, since 1919, has been known as the leading manufacturer of replacement phonograph needles and cartridges for turntables of all makes.
        Pfanstiehl has been a supplier of after market audio accessories for over 82 years. The company has well established brand names including "Crankin' Power" and "Crankin Cable", "Custom Home Installation" and also "Pfantone"; a name familiar to several generations of audio enthusiasts. According to Wayne Timpe, president of L.K.G. Industries, "day-to-day operations of Pfanstiehl should continue without interruption." And, "we will make every effort to continue supplying Pfanstiehl customers with minimal interruption in spite of the fact that we are moving all operations from Waukegan to Rockford."
        L.K.G. Industries, Inc. is the owner of several widely known trade names including "Philmore Manufacturing, CarterCraft and Datak". Those trade names have a long history, dating respectively from 1921, 1970 and 1966. "These are all names that are known for service and reliability", Mr.Timpe stated, "and we plan to continue that tradition for products in the Pfanstiehl division". Mr. Timpe added "we are very excited to be entering the Auto Sound Accessories market with such a strong product line, and especially with the strength of the brand name "Crankin' Power".
